 Ms. Padlock's First Grade Class
Math
We are working on telling time in math. Please practice time to the hour and half hour on an analog clock with your children.
Language Arts
The first graders continue to work on verbs in language arts. Currently, we are studying the irregular verbs. We are also working on comparative writing.
Science
Our science unit is about living things and we've been talking about animals. See if your children can tell you the difference between a vertebrate and an invertebrate!
Social Studies
We finished our unit on town and country. Now, we're moving into city and suburbs.
Reading
In reading, we are working in groups. The students I am not working with have an opportunity to work on other various literature related activities and strengthen their independent work skills.
Schedule
 Art Tuesday, with and arts integrated project on Monday - Physical Education Tuesday and Thursday
- Music Monday and Thursday
- Spanish Wednesday and Friday
- Library Friday
The first graders eat first this year, so lunch is from 11:30 until 11:55. Then they go outside for recess.
