Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year! Be sure to check this site weekly to view homework assignments, upcoming test dates and due dates for projects!
Homework & Projects:
- DOL ---DOL test on week # 22 will be Monday, February 20th.
- DOG---A new DOG sheet will go out on Monday, February 20th, and will be due the following Monday, February 27th.
- Math 6/5....Chapter 12 test is set for Wednesday, Feb. 22nd.
- Math 5/4....Chapter 13 test will be Thursday, February 23rd.
- Science....our new chapter is on SOIL. The test on this chapter will be late next week.
- Social Studies..we are learning about the three branches of government, as well as, Wisconsin history.
- Reading....Our new theme is American Snapshots.
- Religion.... Unit test will be an open book/take home test. It will be handed out on Thursday, Feb. 16th, and it is due Monday, Feb. 20th. We will start Chapter 14 on the Fourth Commandment.
- Language---we are working on card catalog concepts and moving into the study of verbs.
- Penmanship--- Review of manuscript then reinforcing of cursive.
- Spelling..... A new list went out on Tuesday, Feb. 14th. The pre-test will be Wednesday, Feb. 22nd. The final test on this list will be Friday, Feb. 24th , if needed.
- BOOK IT LOGS.... Happy reading! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!This is the FOURTH month of BOOK IT where everyone in fourth grade met their reading goal. Hip, Hip, Hooray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep reading! The February logs are out.......keep reading/stay strong!
A Heartfelt THANK-YOU goes out to everyone who helped with the Cake Walk. It was a lot of fun and a huge success. We had well over 65 cakes donated to this event! Thanks to all the wonderful bakers and contributors. A special thank-you to our workers: students, parents, and staff. It could not happen without the team effort.
The fourth grade Social Studies Business (School Spirit Store) at the Cake Walk made $125.00. We learned many things about running a business. Our vocabulary words came to life when we planned our product. We determined supply and demand. We found an investor and had to figure out cost and profit. The students took inventory, priced and sold the product. Thank you for stopping in and shopping at the 4th grade store. The $125.00 profit will be going to the Love Life Ministries. A special thank-you to Mrs. Radue who helped make this all happen in our Art Integration classes!
- Spanish.....Test this week! 4 workbook pages are due on Tuesday. These pages will be a help for the test.
- Library....is always on Fridays. Please remember to return your library books each Friday so that other students may enjoy them too!

Bio: I am Mrs. Gerlach. I am married and have one adult son. I love to travel. I have visited England, France, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Saint Thomas, Puerto Rico and various states within the United States. My favorite state was Hawaii! I love to teach especially 4th grade since it is the year to study our state's history. I have been at Saint Joseph School for about 11 years(5 at the old St. Joe's and 6 at the new school). Before teaching at my home parish, I taught at Saint Mary's School in Luxemburg for twenty-five years. I look forward to another exciting, faith-filled year of learning!
