Button Mania was a huge success!
Saint Joseph School started a business as a way to learn first hand about the concepts and vocabulary being taught in Social Studies. The Arts Integrated Learning project was assisted by Mrs. Radue, the Art Teacher. Students in Grade 3/4, with Mrs. Gerlach, built a booth for promoting their product at school. They took out a loan, made buttons and bracelets to sell, learned about supply and demand, repaid the loan with interest and beamed proudly with seeing that they made a profit of $80.00. The students agreed that they learned a lot about being entrepreneurs and about giving back to their community. Together, the class decided on a community need and they selected that all of their profits be donated to the Love Life Program. Love Life, provides assistance to families in need of baby supplies.and aid. Larry and Sharon Zambrowicz visited the school upon being presented their donation by the classroom.
