Physical Education - Mrs. Druckrey
About Me
My name is Mrs. Druckrey. I teach Physical Education, teach Piano Lessons and I play the Organ and Piano for the Children's Mass on Wednesdays. I taught at the old Saint Joseph School for 15 years, at which time, Physical Education was held in the basement of the school in the Social Hall. It was challenging for the students because there were pillars in the middle of the floor, which the students had to be careful not to run into.! It is so nice to have a gymnasium to use here at the new Saint Joseph School. The students can play Basketball now which the students could not do at our other school.
Gym Activites
The students are working on Volleyball Skills this quarter and learning the rules of the game. Soon, the students will be on Bowling. This is a good unit to study because the students can use their math skills in adding up all of the Spares and Strikes they get. Good Sportsmanship, fair play, and teamwork are always emphasized. Pre-K-3 and PreK-4 are working on large muscle and locomotor skills, plus low organizational games.
Remember to bring your Tennis Shoes. Students in Grades 5-6, 7-8 will need a change of clothes.
Hobbies and Interests
My husband and I have a Black Lab named Sage that we take to AKC Hunt Tests and compete in different parts of the state with her. She has her Junior Hunter Title and her Senior Hunter Title in AKC and she has her Started Title in UKC. Her official name is "Candlewoods Lotta Dynamite Power." Sage was the Great Lakes Hunting Dog Champion for 2008.
