At Saint Joseph School, every child is known, loved, and challenged to become the person God created them to be. Through faith-filled learning, meaningful relationships, and academic excellence, we prepare students to serve Christ and the world with wisdom, compassion, and confidence.

Our hybrid program for students in Kindergarten through 8th Grade is designed to foster a unique partnership between parents and teachers, As full-time Saint Joseph School students, children are valued members of our school community while also benefitting from intentional learning experiences at home under the guidance of their parents. Together, parents and teachers cultivate a love of learning, academic excellence, and the practice of virtue through a thoughtfully designed schedule that extends learning beyond the classroom.

Why choose our Home & School Hybrid Program?

KNOWLEDGE

Classroom teachers and parents strive to build authentic partnerships to provide students with maximum intentional learning experiences in diverse settings. Through this process, parents remain knowledgeable of the content being introduced to their children across all subject matter.

VERSATILITY

Students attend school three days per week and participate in lessons taught by parents two days per week. This hybrid schedule offers the opportunity for versatility as parents establish the pacing of lessons on days spent at home.

VIRTUE

Our virtue centered culture and small class sizes support a strong sense of community among students across all grade levels. We strive to partner with parents to help every child cultivate character, integrity, and a love for what is good, true, and beautiful.

 EXCELLENCE

Our pedagogical practice promotes excellence by maximizing meaningful learning experiences for all students. Together we can foster deeper conceptual understanding, encourage creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking, promote ownership and responsibility for learning, and differentiate instruction.
"For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith virtue; and to virtue, knowledge..."

2 Peter 1:5

Curriculum & Instruction

Picture
The Saint Joseph Learning Cycle is a framework built on the belief that students engage in deep learning when they are prepared, engage in community, apply their understanding in meaningful ways, and reflect on their growth. Rather than viewing learning as a series of lectures followed by tests, we recognize that students benefit most when they first encounter new concepts independently, then return to a community of learners where they deepen understanding through collaboration, authentic application, feedback, and reflection.

Within our Home & School Hybrid Program, this learning cycle honors the distinct and complementary roles of parents and teachers. Parents support students during the preparation phase by facilitating first exposure to new learning, while teachers design learning experiences and guide students toward deeper understanding through rich classroom instruction and assessment.

The Saint Joseph Learning Cycle transforms classroom time from a place primarily used for information delivery into a place where students actively construct understanding, solve problems, create, communicate, and grow together.
Curriculum Map
"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you."

Schedule

Students enrolled in our Home & School Hybrid Program are considered full-time Saint Joseph School students, attending school from 7:40am-2:50pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and completing prescribed lessons taught by parents at home on Tuesdays and Fridays.

While at school, students will join their peers in their grade-level homerooms. A block schedule will be utilized to ensure maximum intentional learning across all subject matter and specials takes place.

Application & Admissions Process

Families interested in enrolling in Saint Joseph School’s Home & School Hybrid Program must complete an application for consideration before enrollment can be finalized.

Application Deadline: December 31, 2026

Applications received by December 31, 2026 will be reviewed by a committee consisting of the Principal, Hybrid Learning Coordinator, and homeroom teacher throughout January in preparation for open enrollment, which begins during Catholic Schools Week in the first week of February. Applications will be reviewed in the order they are received. Depending on applicant interest and available enrollment capacity, the application deadline may be extended.

Our Application Process

The application and admissions process consists of the following steps:

1. Schedule a School Tour
Schedule and participate in a tour of Saint Joseph School to learn more about our school community, our Home & School Hybrid Program, and pick up your enrollment form and hybrid program application.

2. Submit Enrollment Form and Hybrid Program Application
Complete the standard Saint Joseph School enrollment paperwork and our hybrid program application which consists of: Academic Readiness via MAP assessments, Family Partnership Conversation, and Parent Intent Letter and/or Student Artifact.

2A. Academic Readiness Review
Schedule and complete MAP assessments in Reading and Mathematics or submit recent results as applicable. Other standardized assessments such as STAR or Forward Exam will not be accepted.

Students enrolling in the Home & School Hybrid program are expected to score at or above the 40th percentile in each subject. Additional testing opportunities may be provided upon request.

The Hybrid Learning Coordinator will reach out to families about testing dates upon receiving the completed application.

2B. Family Partnership Conversation
Attend a 15-20 minute meeting with our Home & School Hybrid Enrollment Committee to discuss readiness, expectations, instructional needs, and questions.

2C. Parent Intent Letter and/or Student Artifact
Parents of students enrolling in Grades K-2 will submit a parent letter indicating their interest and motivations to enroll in the hybrid program.

Students entering grades 3–8 have the opportunity to practice our virtues of orderliness, docility, and responsibility and have a voice in their educational journey as they complete a portion of the application alongside their parent or guardian by submitting their own letter or artifact sharing their interests, learning preferences, and why they are interested in joining the hybrid program.

3. Acceptance and Partnership Agreement
Saint Joseph School will communicate whether your application for enrollment has been approved. Accepted families will then need to complete our partnership agreement form outlining expectations, quarterly reviews, and process for addressing concerns throughout the year.
